The kids were at the crib, as I was strapped with one of them on my back. Ha! The home was starting to look nice, but there were still many things that needed to be left. The house would need a great deal of effort as well as a passion of shopping. To stay within the budget, I started going with my boys to estate sales in search of diamonds. The weekly ritual was that we would go through estate and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays and purchase a variety of antique and brand new furniture. Then I would spend my weekdays painting and sanding on our front lawn. The look was similar to the picture below... This is when my interest in restoration of furniture started. It didn't matter if our house had already been decorated. There was a spot in the market in which I sold my items. I could outgrow the market because I had plenty of pieces that I needed. At home, I would host open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and purchase any product they wanted on the first floor in just one weekend. Growing Days is the result of this. In addition to my thriving company, I also started our family. I was balancing the demands between what it took to start a new business as well as a mother too. Growing Days seemed like the ideal match. My beautiful Nora came into the world in 2013 and was our 4th child. While I was pleased with the direction that my business took, I felt like I had to take an occasional break. I got away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy some quality time with my children. This was precisely what I was looking for at the time. But after a short time I began to hear my phone to ring. People were calling me and needing help with the interior decoration and improvements. Most of these people were those who had walked through my home during the open house for furniture! While I was working I began adding customers to my client list one by one. It wasn't too that long before I was managing many clients and operated a profitable home improvement business. When you first told me about my home renovation business, I laughed. Indeed, I am laughing slightly when I recall the episode.
