Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being given 10/10 points at an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who later became her coach in later years, discovered her at age six. Her first competition was in the National Junior Championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, Comaneci took home the title. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an overall junior champion. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world to utilize a reversed double salto in order to take off the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her career in the entertainment business in her teens. The path she took to success began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. These shows included skaters who were followed by musical performances.
